Loved it! Had a great time.
Great concert! Had fun sitting in the food alley talking with friends and watching people go by.
it is absolutely ridiculous that we have to buy a ticket for a baby (the 14 month FAQ) it is a cheap way to make make an extra buck… that could use a better approach. whether you say it’s for count or not..
Can we get the tractor pull back again. Please!!!!
Just wondering on your calender why you don’t have the fair dates or anything about the fair on it. This would make it nice to glance at the calender to see what events are on what days.
Thank you for the suggestion. Will work on getting that information on the calendar. Thank you for checking out our website.
So glad to have info and ticketing OL. Ticketing was smooth and easy. Could we have more of the exibition days and times on the calander?(Such as sheep show, goat show and etc.) Great web site!!
IF i had to sit next to someone with a baby and they didn’t buy a seat for them i would be really upset, first of all they do take up space whether they sit on your lap or not, your baby needs things, diaper bag, car seat, and you move a lot more with a baby on your lap. Plus, what would happen if a fight, severe storm or a fire broke out?!? How would anyone know that you had a baby?!? Maybe you shouldn’t even be taking a baby to most of these events!
I too agree that it is crazy to have to pay for a ticket for a baby for the demo derby. My little one isn’t even a year old yet. I get that I have to pay for my 2 year old but the other one won’t even sit in his own seat.
Why is the Logan County Fair smaller and a lot more expensive than the Champaign county fair?
Here is a story on this year Champaign county fair and the costs:
URBANA — With a tough economy, many residents are putting off vacations and opting to stay home this summer.
Melvin Cook is hoping while they’re home, a lot of those families will spend at day or two at the Champaign County Fair. The 168th annual Champaign County Fair is scheduled to begin Aug. 7, and will run through the 14th.
Tickets to the fair will be $7 per person, but parking and all the rides are included in that cost, said Cook, the Champaign County Fair board president. While the fair draws big crowds every year, Cook said he’s hoping the weak economy helps bring more people to enjoy the fair.
“My feeling is that people maybe didn’t take a vacation and they’ll spend their time and money at the fair,” he said.
In a project that took up most of the summer, renovations for the grandstand are in their final stages, Cook said. The $300,000 project was made possible by a large donation from the Champaign County commissioners and a loan the fair board plans to pay back with proceeds from the fair.
Along with replacing 350 seats on both ends of the grandstand, a brick water fountain has been rebuilt and the restrooms received a makeover.
There should also be plenty of activities to draw crowds as well, Cook said. This year’s headliner will be a free Elvis Presley tribute performed by Mike Albert. There will also be harness racing sponsored by the Urbana area Chamber of Commerce and a tug-a-truck event in which two trucks will try to out-muscle each other.
“Any kind of motor sport draws people,” Cook said.
Melinda Morrison, 4-H Extension coordinator for the county, said prejudging for many of the events has begun, and the events have drawn numerous participants.
“This is the main event in our county,” she said.
I will never attend the Logan county fair again. For what I paid for my daughter to get in and ride I could get all three of our family members in (which includes rides and parking). It never improves, the cost are high, and the exact same rides and attractions are there every year. My family is done with the Logan county fair. It is not worth the money. I spent jsut about the same amount of money as I did at Kings Island this year.
What a non-value our local fair is!
I took my family to the mutton busting & bull riding and was not prpared to have to pay full admission prices for my 3 yr old & 1 yr old. At $10 a ticket it sure adds up fast. We spent $40 just to go to one event. Unfortunately now we can not afford to go to any other events. I think it is a shame that having been a county member and very involved in the fair my whole life, that now I and others are unable to afford to take advantage of this traditional local event. Could you at least lower the cost for children. Mine didn’t even use a seat!!
I agree Dale! The tractor pull is a great event for the communittee members to participate in at the fair who aren’t able to particpate in rodeo events that now dominate the night events.
It is unbelievable that this fair charges the same price for baby’s and toddlers as all other age groups. Typically toddlers and under are free! Once again welcome to Northeast Colorado….Don’t forget the Super Size bottle of KY on your way to Northeast Colorado….That is if you have any spare money after buying tickets !!!
When posting the ticket information for the carnival, putting how much a single day or a single ticket costs would be beneficial as well.
Thanks!
I was at the fair parade and kept getting hit by candy… The children that were by me almost got hit by some of the vehicles in the parade trying to get all the candy. I know that in a town here in colorado they stopped throwing candy because of these problems. They hand the candy out to the children instead of throwing it.
would like to know more about the one armed bandit & co specialty show that was at the rodeo. I know there was a web sight on the side of the truck but was so into the show that I missed getting it.
To all the people complaining about buying tickets for your baby/toddlers..have you thought that maybe the Demo Derby is not the place for a baby with very tender ears??? As an adult I had to cover my ears sometimes. Maybe you should use this night as the night away from the kids. There are some places that just aren’t good for babies to be. Think about the child next time, not the expense!!
The Derby was awesome. The trucks and compacts were the best. It is crazy to charge for babys but not extra for the 400 pounders. When you pack 4 or 5 of them in they take way more room than 4 or 5 regular people. Or a baby here and there.
Ok so this is really late on the comment, but the person who was complaining about getting hit with candy, wow. Getting hit with candy is like the whole expierence! And just put one of those leash backpacks on your kids and you wont have to worry about them getting hit. Easy as pie
All the negativity over having to pay for a child is absurd!! First & foremost, anyone under 5 should NOT be going to the demo derby in the first place! Small ears cannot handle the loud noise. Even on your lap they take up space. They do not “sit” still they move around, you have extra bags and sometimes strollers!! They crowd is rowdy & sometimes drunk & looking for a fight & what happens when your “child” gets injured. PLEASE people leave them home or pay the price whatever it may end up costing.
In regards to kids “almost: getting hit by the parade vehicles—THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RUNNING THAT CLOSE TO THEM FOR CANDY IN THE FIRST PLACE! SHAME ON THEIR PARENTS!!!
While I agree they should stop throwing it from the vehicle/floats. Here in Nebrasak they have to have a “walker” that hands it out. Or they have to be close to the crowd to lightly toss or drop it. problem solved
Dear Logan County Residents ~

Why is there nothing on the calendar for 2010? It pulls up blank. And on many of the tabs, the data is from 2009 – like the concessions tab tells me what happened LAST year. I think someone needs to update the site!!
I am trying to work on updating the web when I get the forms and have time Will try to update calendar, if not you can always go to the fair book on the website under exhibits and look up what is going on a certain day.
It’s nice to see that the children are the biggest concern in this county…
They are more worried about keeping drunk violent people entertained! We will definitely be moving to a place that is safer for our children to live. Where they are at least concerned about the well being of children. ESPECIALLY WHEN A GOOD PARENT(S) BRING UP SOMETHING THAT COULD GET A CHILD KILLED!
CHILDREN AND ADULTS DIE ALL THE TIME FROM RIDING ON FLOATS AND THROWING CANDY! THEY FALL OFF THE SIDE WHILE SLINGING CANDY INTO THE CROWNDS AND GET RAN OVER!!! IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE CHILDREN THAT ARE RUNNING UP TO GET IT! so yes SOMEBODY should walk along the people to pass out candy!!!
Ditto the comments regarding the calendar. I CAN’T go to a fair book as I’m from out of town and it’d be nice seen what the schedule is in order to plan around the start of school!

Is it to late to register for the parade? Would like to enter a float for my facility. Don’t receive the newspaper at home to to get the form from it and staff at times trash or take newspaper home. Please let me know.
Hi Teresa
There is a parade form on the parade tab. There is no fee for parade entry til July 30. There isn’t a fax number on it but you can fax it to the office at 970-522-4018 and I will get it to Mindy (parade chairperson)
Just for the first time used the online option to print my tickets for J.T. concert at home. NEVER AGAIN! It used up two of my new ink cartridges just to print the additional “scene” below the actual tickets! What a waste! It prob cost me DOUBLE for the concert to print my own tickets. Surely you can come up with something more efficient. How disappointing!!
Huge blue frosted tree picture on page of printable ticket sure takes a lot of ink! Could be a simpler pic.
whats the price orf just one day ticket. it would b nice to kno. thanks.
Unbelievable that I am buying a rodeo ticket for my 8 week old baby. Just like Northeast Colorado to promote family attending events together. The rodeo is never sold out and an 8 week old baby must be in my loving arms. This is disgusting. What a way to make money!!
Why on earth do you keep getting the Bill Hames Show for the carnival? They are one of the worst shows on the circuit. This year was even worse than last. They didn’t have enough people to give breaks, so the people running the rides would just randomly walk away with out a word leaving everyone in line just standing there. The shows employees were badly in need of showers, as were the rides, and very rude. I know they are “carnies” and all, but I didn’t expect them to be shouting curse words back and forth across the midway while the place was full of kids. Any respectable show would fire the lot of them, and any decent fair board would stop bringing them back year after year. Another thing, why is the only info you have on this site about the carnival telling us to buy the week long armbands that we can’t buy anymore? When the carnival opens and closes each day, has the one day arm bands and single or book ticket prices would be very helpful.
I agree on the tickets. We stoped going to the PRCA Rodeos and the Bull Riding due to the expense. It costs a family of four a fortune to attend the events at fair. It would be nice to be able to attend all the events but it is not feasible. So like many we sat outside and listend like so many. What a shame. We as a 4-H family were down there all week, that alone is a larege expense. Prices need to be adjusted to be famiy friendly.
After 100 years you would think you would have it right… What a sad fair… Exhibits were down, Vendors were down. being a vendor I understand why they are down, this is the least vendor friendly place we have ever been. As vendors we have to pay so much for our spots ahead of time, with a small portion of that being a deposit to get refunded if we live by the rules the fair board sets up, if we fail to open for a day, or even open at later than the specified time we lose our deposit. However, this year they allowed someone to come in and open a booth for only one day (Saturday) the busiest day of the fair and only charged her $60.00 to have this booth.. If many vendors had a choice we would all only open for the one day, and be glad to pay $60.00 much different from the $350.00 we paid. Then handing out vendor restroom passes, and refusing vendors access to the restrooms as the passes were given to grant access… Wow, you have lost more vendors, not just us, but a couple others as well..
Any idea on the 2011 Fair dates?
Not yet. Will probably try to set the dates at the next fair board meeting on September 2, 2010
